The Miller Lumber Company is Hiring a Sales Support Near Bend, OR

Established in 1911, The Miller Lumber Company has been serving Central Oregon’s builders and homeowners for over a century. Each location features a complete lumber yard, fully stocked hardware store, and job-site delivery service.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Sales Support Representative to join our team. As a Sales Support Representative, you will play a crucial role in supporting our contractor sales team and ensuring the smooth operation of our sales processes. You will support and liason between sales personnel and customers.

Responsibilities:

· Provides accurate and timely support to the contractor sales team and/or to customers.

· Double checks co-workers quotes, orders and special orders for accuracy.

· Handles incoming phone calls and e-mails from customers and provides requested information in a timely and efficient manner. Answers customer questions regarding topics such as pricing, availability, delivery, backorders, specifications, returns, credits and order placements. Promotes an effective working relationship with customers and may be contacted directly by customers requesting information.

· Monitors scheduled shipping dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite, as needed.

· Investigates customer complaints or concerns. Relays customer concerns to others on the sales team and assists in investigating the issue. Resolves issues within company guidelines. As needed, escalates larger concerns to more experienced sales team members for resolution.

· Coordinates with other departments throughout the company on quotes, orders, returns and credits.

· Maintains up-to-date vendor/source product catalogs, with current product and pricing information.

· Maintains customer files and job files.

· Enters orders into system and schedules delivery of products.

· Remains current on customer preferences, changes in local codes and product developments by attending in-house meetings, vendor training or reading trade journals.

· Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or coworkers. Attends periodic safety meetings as required. May recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

· Carries out other duties as required.

Experience:

- Proven experience in a sales support or customer service role

- Strong knowledge of home improvement/lumber industry

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

-Basic math and measurment skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

-Ability to work in fast-paced environments with ongoing deadlines

Preferred Skills:

- Technical sales experience is a plus
